How to play

Aim

Tap or drag the table and the cue points at that spot. Tap a ball to line up straight through it.
Grab the cue behind the white ball and turn it. Hold it far from the ball for finer control.
Fine aim wheel or the − / + buttons: a tenth of a degree a step, Shift for 0.02°. Arrow keys turn 2° (Shift ¼°). Double-tap the wheel to recall your last aim.
Replay (the ↺ button beside Pause) replays the last shot exactly, with the clock held.
Prefer the old way? Preferences → Tap to aim → Cue only.

Shoot

Pull the power bar down and let go. Pull to the very end for full power.
Keyboard: hold Space to pull, release to shoot. A quick tap or Esc cancels.
Aiming never fires a shot. Only the power bar, Space or Enter does.

Spin

Drag on the little cue ball to move the red contact point, or tap it for the big one.
Top spin follows through, back spin draws the cue ball back, side spin bends its rebound off a cushion.
Spin resets to the centre after every shot, so a forgotten setting never ruins the next one. Prefer to keep it? Preferences → Spin → Keep.

Ball in hand

Drag the white ball where you want it, or tap to preview and press PLACE.
After a scratch on the break it must go behind the head line.
Arrow keys nudge it, Enter places it.

The goal

Pot all seven of your balls, solids (1–7) or stripes (9–15), then sink the 8.
The table is open at the start. The first ball you legally pot after the break is your group.

A legal shot

Hit one of your own balls first (any solid or stripe on an open table, never the 8 until you are on it).
Then either pot a ball or send a ball to a cushion.
Pot one of yours and you shoot again.

Fouls

Scratching, missing every ball, hitting the wrong ball first, no ball reaching a cushion, or running out the 45 s shot clock.
Your opponent gets ball in hand anywhere. After a scratch on the break, behind the head line.

The 8-ball

Sink it after your group to win.
You lose if it drops early, drops with a scratch or a wrong first contact, or (in Call the 8) goes in a pocket you did not name.
On the break the 8 is simply re-spotted.

Nine-ball

Nine balls, racked in a diamond with the 1 at the front and the 9 in the middle.
Always hit the lowest ball on the table first. A ring marks it.
Pot any ball and shoot again. Pot the 9 legally to win, even on the break or off a combination.
The break must pot a ball or drive four balls to a cushion, so hit it hard. A weak break is a foul.
Fouls give ball in hand. A 9 potted on a foul goes back on the table. Three fouls in a row lose the rack.

Ten-ball

Ten balls in a triangle, the 1 at the front and the 10 in the middle. Same lowest-ball-first rule and break rule as nine-ball.
The 10 only wins when it is the last ball and you call its pocket (tap a pocket or press C). Any other 10 goes back on the table.

Official 8-ball

Pick Official in match setup. After the break, a pocket is called on every shot: it is chosen for you from your aim, tap a pocket to change it, or press F to play a safety.
Only balls that drop in the called pocket count. Other balls stay down but your turn ends. The 8 must go in its called pocket.
The break must pot a ball or drive four balls to a cushion. If it does not, the other player chooses: accept the table or re-rack and break.
In 9-ball and 10-ball, the shot after a clean break may be a push-out (P): the other player then shoots or passes it back.

Straight pool

A race to 30. Every ball is a point, and any ball may be shot.
After the opening shot, a pocket is called on every shot (auto-read from your aim, tap to change, F for a safety). Only balls in the called pocket score.
A foul costs a point and gives ball in hand; the third in a row costs sixteen. When one ball is left, the other fourteen are racked again around it.

One-pocket

You own one corner pocket, your rival the other (rings mark them). First to put eight balls in their own pocket wins.
A ball in your pocket is yours and you shoot again. A ball in your rival's pocket is theirs. A ball anywhere else goes back on the table.
A foul gives ball in hand and costs you a ball: one of yours goes back on the table.

Club Circuit and Daily Rack

Circuit (lobby tab): beat Rookie, Dex, Vera and Club Pro in turn at casual 8-ball. A win moves you on; a loss replays the round.
Daily Rack (Clubhouse menu): one practice rack, the same for everyone today, with your own score saved on this device. Clear it in as few shots as you can.

Casual vs the official game

Casual (default) has no called shots, like most phone pool.
Call the 8 asks you to name the 8-ball's pocket, as in WPA rules and Miniclip's game.
Official mode adds called shots and the break rules; fouls stay forgiving where phone play needs it.
